Butler taught on-level and advanced English IV, business communications I & II, yearbook, and journalism courses throughout her time at Hempstead. She currently holds intern certification (issued by TEA) in journalism (grades 7-12) and plans to take her PPR exam in April 2024 to obtain full certification. After the completion of her full certification, she plans to take and pass the English Language Arts (grades 6-12) content exam.
Butler obtained her teaching certifications through the alternative certification program iTeach Texas. Throughout her coursework, she created a portfolio of lessons, essays, and other documents that summarized her work in the alternative certification program.
